Default Last District Harescramble of the Season (D-11)

Well I took the cannondale out to the last district race for a fun day. The day started off with some on and off showers in the morning. Then it cleared up and the track was tacky with some mud holes. When the quads line up to start there where 4 uts, 4 2-strokes and 17 4-strokes. This is and about average quad entry for d-11 (the 2-stroke class was a little smaller than it normally is I think 9 or so it the average for them). Well I got a good start for the dale. I think I was about 7th off the line and 8th in the woods. I had a strong first lap until around the 5 mile marker I found a rut that held me up for 7 or so minutes. This moved me into dead last. So by the time I was able to get going again I was not a happy camper and since this race didn't mean anything to me I decide to see what the dale chould do. So I started riding real hard. I past 3 utilities before I finished that lap. BTW the laps where 6 1/2 miles long and we ran a 4 lap race. So I start the 2nd lap just looking for someone to past and I ran the whole lap not seeing anyone other than an utility broke down. So the 3rd comes up and no one in sight. I kept pushing the quad harder and harder. By about the 5 1/2 mile point I saw a 400ex so I pushed a little harder to get on his bumper. As I caught him I looked up and there was a Raptor we were gaining on. By the time I was getting ready to make a pass (less than a 1/4 mile from the white flag) we caught the Raptor. I dove to the inside of the 400ex in a corner out in the field and made a clean pass. Now here is the Raptor in front of me. He knows I'm there and that I'm faster and I go to set him up for a clean pass on a jump, but he cuts me off so I had to back off. I take the white flag and am all over the Raptor. About 1/2 mile in the last lap I said enough is enough an cut a corner and almost got hit by the guy. I made the pass though. So I start riding hard again to find the next guy to pass. No luck. I finished 12th in the class and 14th overall. I was 20 secs out of 11th and 45 out of 10th. Not a bad ride considering.

Atleast you didn't loose to the utilites,lol.J/K

Even though you didn't win I bet it was fun.

How dou you compare a lap in a hare scrambler to a lap on a mx track indurance wise.
I wouldn't mind giving that a shot one day, but not shure if im in good enough shape.

Not that I know what Xc series he went to or anything about it BUT:
The ones I go to in the late winter and spring mike your more than welcome to come with us. It is brutal. 8 to 12 miles a lap. run 2 hours +1 lap. Very hard to finish unless you prepare.

Unlike MX there is places to rest. well like running WOT is a place to rest, lol. But it is brutal but in my opinion is the graetest sport ever, much better than mx.

I consider it way better in many ways. Like when you go race, you race. Not run a moto and hang around ALL day and run another moto. They have a morning race and a afternoon race. Half of all the classes run in the morning and the other half run in the afternoon.

Infact why don't you come to Lorreta's with us this year for a GNCC. You will love it. I personally garrentee you have NEVER seen so many quad riders in one race event in your life. I would say this year they will have more than 600 entries. It is totally cool.

Biggest problem we down here have is when we get there and see the hills we have to ride in, well we have no hills here Yah why don't you come with us this year to one. Bring some long johns, it's freakin cold too, lol

Be looking for a report/review soon on the GasGas. For now that's all I can say.

Gaff is right about the description for a GNCC (national race). My local races run anywhere from an hour to 1 1/2 hours. Laps are anywhere from 4-7 miles long. My local races seem to be tighter and slower speeds than nationals. It's a different type fo set-up than moto. More endurance racing. It's like trail riding with your buddy's, but going a little faster, pending on how you trail ride and how hard you push yourself. I say find a local harescramble and go have fun.

Hey Guys,
Well raced our local Cross Country race last weekend. I was running in the top 4 in class and top 7 overall when on the last lap my quad quit on me again. It once again belched some oil and just seemed to shut down. I walked back to the pits and by the time we returned to tow it, It fired up so I drove it back. I have ridden it some this week and it once again seems fine...I can't figure this thing out.

Oh well my son 14 took second overall in points in his class on his blaster and my other son 10 recived a second also in senior mini quad. My daughter 7 recieved a 6th place trophy on her second race ever in the 50cc mini quads.

These guys are sure showing up the old man...no fair.....

if you want you can check out some pix and video clips on my web page http://www.aerolite103.com/cannondale.htm
