Eton Viper 50cc Brake levers
#1
Got my 6 year old a Eton Viper 50cc quad. (actually a very killer quad for the little guys/gals)
We took it for its first ride Sunday, and had a ball. One minor hitch,
The little guy has a stretch from the hand grip to the brake lever, the gap from the handle bars to the
brake lever is a little to far to inable him to get full braking power.
Are there any aftermarket brake levers that would provide a closer reach for his little hands?

It has been some time since this was posted so I don't know if you've solved the problem or not. I looked at the E-ton, but we got the Kasea Skyhawk. It has a foot brake...like they all should! They call these kids quads and then they put levers on that look full-size to me. They all brag about the safety features and then they overlook the brake levers...the MOST important part! Most kids have stronger legs and not much hand strength, so a foot brake makes more sense. It also gets them ready for a bigger quads braking.
You could loosen the adjusters to let the lever move in more before it squeezes the brakes, but that doesn't do much for the initial reach. Maybe you can get levers from a PW-80 or other minicycle.
Would it be possible to fabricate a foot brake? We had a Y-zinger 50 and I was going to use a KTM 50 foot brake on it...we then decided on a quad instead.
I don't know if you are into fabricating or not. If you think you would like to try I can take pictures of the Kasea's set-up. It has both the foot and hand brakes. It is possible that the same parts could be used or modified to work. I made an extension for the throttle since that is a bit of a reach for little thumbs also.
If you want pics, just Email or post a reply.

Mascman,
I would love some pics of that mod...Since I had not found anything short of heating the levers up
and bending them, I have been thinking of making a foot brake for the bike... I think it's a hell of an idea.
You can send the pics to: Your_Chance@hotmail.com
