What size tires to run on grizzly
#1
Hey just wondering what everyone has found out to be the best size and brand thinking of 589 m/s in the 27" size wondering will 28"s fit or is that going to put to much stress on the axles any help would be great

I run 28" 589's on mine without any problems.
However, my riding style may have something to do with it also. I don't do any jumping or really fast riding (I got my fill of that when I still had the factory skins on).
I have towed a trailer with these tires. Even with the tongue weight compressing the ride a little, and traversing serious rock gardens, I never had a scrape one.
I have noticed a marked difference in power. It will still out-run most any 500cc class sport-utility machine out there, even if they have stock skins. (I just toasted a Vinson last week, and I had a passenger along with all my gear!). But there is just not the same 'snap' and 'rush' from the throttle in High Range. In Low Range I personally have not noticed a difference.
The good side of it is the increased traction. There are tires out there that will give you more traction in the mud. I chose to pass on them because of the terrible ride you get on hard surfaces. For me it is the right compromise.
Hope this helps.

I still have the Rap for the sport riding but so far all I have really done is some serious ice riding heading upto the lake (MILLE LACS) on saturday so hopefully with the 5 days off I have I will either put some serious *** time in my new Fish Trap or on the Grizzly My terrian lately has been some major hard water but it has been fun I just ordered some hand guards from www.rockymountainatv.com so hopefully that will help keep the top of my hands from getting cold. I still don't have a good camera so those pictures will just have to wait a while longer but I will post some soon. Merry Christmas and hard Riding RY

Big tires Why. Is your bike handeling to good ? Is it to fast as it is ? Does it feel like it needs to be more top heavy? Do you like replacing all the parts you are going to stress out ? Are you tired with keeping up with your buddys ? Do you like unsproung waight ?Big tires have a very short list of things they do good !!!!!!And a very long list of what they suck at !!!!!They do increase ground clearence and are better for very very deep snow or mud and climbing over things like rocks. GOOD TIRES ARE WHAT YOU NEED !!

RaptorRy I took mine out on the ice for the first time on Sat. ( First ice turney of the year ) The new tires did good but nothing like my buddys he put snowmobile studs in his 589s.He had the traction on the clear ice over any of us. Ice quad drag races will be held at one of the upcoming ice fishing turneys I think I need studs . (what if I lost) I hope the new CDI is out by then I am still playing around with jetting but I know I will have a chance.
