When you get the jetting right, the starting troubles will probably end, since they are very related. Have you adjusted the air / fuel screw on the carb? That will affect starting and idle quite a bit. I know that when I took the time to rejet & adjust my carburetor I noticed it started a lot easier, as well as having gobs more power to play with. Try the air / fiel mixture screw between 2.5 turns (stock) and 3 turns (what alot of guys are running including me) and see how that works for you. I would try the jet needle in the third slot (from the top) and keep the 190 then see how your plugs look as well as how well it starts. Did you bother to give your carburetor a good cleaning yet? That is always a healthy thing to do when you have it off.

THANKS FOR THE HELP. I DID ADJUST THE MIXTURE SCREW WHEN I REJETTED TO 3 TURNS. IF I HOLD THE CHOKE ALL THE WAY OUT AND HIT THE THROTTLE A LITTLE IT WILL FIRE THE STALL. I THE TRY PUSHING THE CHOKE IN ONE CLICK AND IT WILL NOT RESTAR. SO I TRIED PULLING THE CHOKE ALL THE WAY OUT AGAIN AND SOMETIMES IT WILL START THEN STALL. IF IT IS A JETTING PROBLEM SHOULD I GO BIGGER OR SMALLER. I BELIVE THE ALBA KIT CAME WITH A 190 MAIN JET.

You dont know how badly I would have listened to advise I was given here. I had the same problem for 1 year and finally went and had my valves adjusted and it starts instantly now. I tried almost every combo of jets out there. You will have to let others tell you the specs if you do the adjustment you self,, good luck.

suprdavtn is correct. If the problem doesn't change when you change the jetting the next possibility is the valves. Marky Nark has brought up this point numerous times, though I always forget since I've not had that trouble as of yet. Do a search for posts on that topic and follow the instructions given, if this is your problem you'll be very happy with the results.

i finally got mine dialed in this weekend. im running full exaust, uni on carb and rwr cdi and what works best for me is the mikuni 175 with the clip on the second from top with washer on top

I AM GOING TO REJET THIS WEEKEND AND SEE IF THAT WORKS. IF NOT WHAT IS THE SPEC FOR THE VALVE ADJUSTMENTS. IS IT THE STOCK SPEC OR IS IT SOMTHING DIFFERENT.
