What do you mean by close to the stock one? Did you compare the original to these and find one that works? Just trying to understand.

Make sure you cross the number to a NAPA or a Wix filter and do not use the fram. FRAM filters are the worst on the market.

NAPA's site is down, but the WIX part number for a Fram CH6015 is 24944. Now to figure out where to actually buy one...

What do you mean Fram is the worst? Where do you get your info from. I work for Purolator and Fram is our biggest competitor. Fram has been at the top for years. I dont mean to sound like an a$$ but you need to get your facts right. Maybe you dont like Fram but they are be far NOT the worst!!!Purolator makes about 35 percent of the filters on the market,Fram is almost 50 percent and the rest, well who cares!

Just because Fram sells a lot of filters doesn't mean that it is any good. Fram is garbage, I have read a few studies on oil filters and Fram is nearly the worst available.

Do a search on it, the results are endless, all speaking poorly of Fram. I am surpised you didn't know this, working for a filter company.

Thanks ScramblerX, sounds like one of the authors REALLY likes Mobil1 filters. I have been using Wix on my vehicles. Seams to be a pretty good filter. What about the K&N.....anyone use one? Are they expensive like the air filters? I saw the part number for a SP500 was KN303.

DuneRocket,

The honda 400ex filter is almost identical with the exception of the metal flange that flares on one side. The Pred filter doesn't have the flare. It's subtle, but I was afraid to try it. My dealer in Phoenix had quite a few Polaris Pred filters. Let me know if you need contact info to order.

For safe keeping, I ordered four Predator oil filters today from Desert Motorsports in Scottsdale, Arizona. They have lots of 'em, so if you want any, call up and order them. I'll leave it to you to go to the Polaris website and look up the number.
