Default Testing Sportsman 600 Twin

I just read the latest issue of All-Terrain Vehicle magazine and they tested the Sportsman 600 twin. They thought it was great. The key is its industry leading suspesion compliance. Off camber sidehilling and gnarly downhills are challenges that are no match for it.

Default Testing Sportsman 600 Twin

I just rode mine for the first time today, I put 15 miles on it on narrow, winding, wooded trails. It's amazing how different it sounds from my SP500! It will take me awhile to get used to it. I'm really **** about the break-in period, so I would only take it up to 30MPH, and that will be the max for at least the first tank of gas. But it seems to have a TON more torque than what I'm used to. Low range is seriously low! Suspension and handling are pretty similar to the SP500, it is basically the same setup of what I had before. The suspension seems stiffer, probably because it is new. I'll look to see if I can soften it up a bit, especially in the back. I have never driven a 500 HO, but it seems to be one heck of a jump up in power going from a 00 SP500 to the Twin.
It just really ticks me off that I can't switch over my brand-new Mudrunners off my 500 to the Twin, the Mudrunners are clearly a better tire. (The rear rim on the 00 SP500 is smaller than the front, a bonehead design anyways. The new ones have the same rim size all around)
So far, me likey. Let me know if you have specific questions.
