For those of you with an Xbox instead of a PS2. Atv power Racing is coming! I just got the demo game and it does feature alot of quads so far. The full game wont be available until feb but so far looks great. And it will be played online through Xbox live.

OKAY!, I need a console video game to go with my new HDTV. Do i get Xbox or PS2? I enjoy racing games and wartype games (halo/half-life). PS2 seems to ahve more "adult" games whereas Xmox has 4 controllers. I dunno!

You can also get something called a Multi-Tap (Around $20) for the PS2 that allows you to play up to 4 players. Most of the newer games for PS2 have a 2, 3 or 4 player option. ATV Offroad Fury2 is one such game. It is a complete blast to play either Tag or Hockey (Yes ATV Hockey) with 4 players.
Both the PS2 & XBOX can be used as a DVD player, but you have to buy the remote control unit to do so on both of them. Both also have On-Line game play.
There are twice as many games for the PS2, plus you can still play PS1 games on the PS2. Playstation also has several games known as "Greatest Hits" these games sell for $19.99. Many of them are former #1 games and are a blast (GT3, Crazy Taxi, ATV Offroad Fury 1, Red Faction, Tony Hawk 3, Spy Hunter & so on). I have at least 12 different racing games, and there are lots more out there. Xbox games are generaly more expensive. Even on sale you are looking at around $30 a piece.
Either way, PS2 or Xbox, you cant go wrong. Xbox has Great graphics, not to mention being owned by Microsoft doesn't hurt either.
Have Fun.

I have a 65" HDTV Mitsubishi wide screen. All my sound is in DTS 5.1. I have the XBox and it is awesome. I am really into the racing games and have been really happy. The XBox plays CD's and DVD's as does playstation. Not sure if you can play over the net with playstation though. You can with XBox. XBox is coming out with more and more games all the time, but they may never catch playstation. Seems to be more games for adults with the XBox than with playstation. If you go with XBox, make sure you buy the HDTV cables. The standard cables won't get you the best sound or picture.
