I dont think there is any fuses or fusable links on atv's. Everything is hard wired. You can only get so much voltage from the stator and voltage spikes are very rare. Not like a vehical. Cars can run 12 to14.7 volts but can have spikes and if the voltage regulator goes bad, posative and ground wires touch, or some freak thing, fuses can protect the electrical system. ATV's dont have much more than 12 volts running through them.

The Polaris's have self reseting fuses, they work kind of like a serge protector, but reset there self after they are triped unless you have a short in the wiring.

If you look at the suplement sheet that came with your quad, it will show you the wiring diagram and how many self resetting fuses there are, think it's 2 or 3 on the 2002 500 H.O

Yes, Polaris has been using self-resetting circuit breakers for a while now.
The only fuses on mine are for the accessory plug-in I have added.

Hondas use fuses, located in a box behind the battery. Polaris uses circuit breakers which reset when the short is removed; excess load is removed; or when unit cools down. An example would be a loaded winch motor causing the breaker to overheat, will take a while for it to reset.
