I recently got a 400EX and I love it! I have a friend with a piped 250 Quadracer that is telling me that he can easily outjump and out drag me. My 400EX is all stock but I think it has to be faster than a little QR and I know that my suspension has to be better since it's over a decade newer. He says that there is no way a 4 stroker is going to beat a 2 stroke. Unfortunately we now live to far apart from each other to actually put our money where our mouths are so I was wondering what you guys think? Am I crazy? or do you think he is just talking out his ***. I could see it maybe if he had a 250R that has an awesome suspension and top end speed. BTW does anybody know what an '88 250 Quadracer weighs? He says they weigh 297 but I thought it was more.
Thanks if you know.

I was thinking that a LT250R was faster than a 250R (as was the 250 Tecate) The 250R was more "popular" only because it was a more successful racer. I agree the suspension on a 400EX is diffently A+, but in a drag if the 250 is not in need of a rebuild I would doubt that a stock 400EX would beat it. I wouldn't stereo type 2 stroke vs 4 stroke I would just say I think since they say a 250R is faster stock than a 400EX & a LT250R is a tad faster stock than a Honda 250R than one would come to the conclusion you would probably lose in a drag.
Oh well I guess, I'd still rather have the Honda

The I own both and I know my 250 whoops my 400EX in drags!!! The Kawasaki 250 was the fastest 250, then it was teh LT250R and hten the slowest was the TRX250R. THe TRX was only popular because it was more comfortable and had better suspension. A LT250R weight like 330.

Yes a LT 250 R is a Suzuki. Kawasaki made the Tecate-4. Honda made the TRX 250 R.

I own a 400ex and my buddy has a slightly modified lt250r. It has been bored and ported etc. In a drag race on a dried up river bottom, both of us with paddles, we were wheel for wheel or dead even in fourth gear. Neither bike could pull 5th gear very well with the paddles on. Oh yeah my 400ex is stock.
