ADVISE & RECMDS ANY CONS ON THE 03 500 MAN
#1
Guys. I am looking @ buying an 03 500 manual. So far I can't find any negatives, which is a good thing. but there has to be some issues. Anyone having any problems I should be aware of or have I found the perfect quad? Any advise you can give a new owner would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance .
And may all your ups and downs be by choice.

Don't know of anyone having mechanical problems with it really. Nothing that just sticks out as a common thing. If you consider it to be the perfect quad, then you've done exactly what you need to do- which is satisfy yourself. My brother in law just bought this same quad and it is just remarkable I think.
Two of the things that caused me to get rid of my 99 500 were the lack of IRS and the fact that it steered like a tank. The new AC's steer very light, and that 500i has the same ground clearance with stockers that my 660 has with 27" tires. 2003 500i is a very good buy.

I bought a 02 500i manual last year and love it. The only problem I ever had with the quad was tearing the CV boots Lost 2 in one summer but alot of the access rodes to our trails are old logging roads with trees down everywhere. This issue can be taken care of by Ox lite CV boot guards. Other than that the quad has surpassed my exspectations in every aspect. I absolutley love this machine. It has been completly problem free for an entire year now and I assume many more to come. Can't go wrong with buying an Arctic Cat 500i.

I just read another post and it did remind of one issue I did have with it, it was that i started to loose pressure for the brakes. I never lost my braking power it just seemed to get soft at the brake lever. dealer has no sloution yet. Never caused a problem so far but if neglected it probally will. But yet still a great quad!
