a buddy of mine has a 97 sport with hpd pipe and a clutch kit, any way we were doing the double jumps on a mx track and he landed rear wheels right on the peak of the landing and snapped the chain. so what would could be done to prevent this. rollers, a real chain guide, tensioner what? thanks

RDex,

The first thing your friend should have done when he purchased the machine is to get a chain tensioner. I've never snapped a chain on either machine I own and credit this to the chain tensioner. Plus it really makes adjusting the chain a snap (pardon the pun). Instead of getting a strap to crank down the back suspension to get the proper tension, you just measure it from between the chain (where the roller bends it) and swingarm.
