Default Whats the scoop on the 350x

I was recently given a 1985 350x motor thats still in the crate. The factory seals havent even been broken. What I was wondering is how reliable are these motors? Are they fast? What I was thinking about is puting it an a frame but I dont want to mess with it if this a crappy motor. What frame(4 wheeler) would be a good one for it?Would this be a sleeper or just asleep?

You people should know more about this than I do, so any thoughts or ideas would be helpful.

Is this a project worth messing with?

Put the engine on eBay. It belongs in a 3wheeler. If it is in the condition you state it should bring over $500 on ebay.

Just joke'in!! I am very aware that most can beat my stock 400ex.

I would rather make something out of it. $500 is not worth my time to sell it.

NO, the project isn't worth messing with. Are you saying that either you'll put it in a frame or you'll just let it sit, but you won't sell it?

Put that motor in a 250X quad frame. I read about someone doing this once and it turned out really well. If I remember correctally, the mounts are exactally the same on both motors.

It is probably one of the most rock solid motors ever.
It will work best in a 250X chassis.

I had a 86 250r chassy with a 86 ATC350x motor in it. I really liked it, Ther conversion looked Factory, and I had tons of comments on it. I wish I would have keeped it, and modded the motor. They say that you can biuld a 350x motor to be Stupid FAST!!! stock I believe they had 24hp.

Oh! and mr 350x is right, You can't tear that motor up if you tried!
