I just got one for my banshee, and i was wondering if anyone had any pictures of one that hey had installed, cuz mine looks a little funny. if anyone has any helpful hints or ideas i would appreciate it. thx

well they gave me 3 peices.
the new filter holder with clamps
a new filter
and a red foam filter.

what is the red one for, and how am i supposeed to oil the filter, cuz i can't remove it. and it came with no instructions so i don't know how to clean it.

i'm confused

Here is a picture on mine. It is on a Wolverine but should be some what similar I would think. The red filter is a extra dust cover. Oil both filters when you use them. The wire mesh piece slids in the filter with the rubber and then the red goes on the out side of the other.

the only other question is, what type of oil should i use? what is the best, and easiest to use.

also does the filter come of of the wire mesh, or do i just leav it on there to oil it, and what should i use to clean it. soryy i have never had a foam filter, i always used kand N thx for your help

You can take the wire mess out. Be carefull not to rip the filter. I use Uni Cleaner and Uni oil on mine. I never really even tried another brand that is what came with mine (I think) when I got it.
For cleaning instruction and oiling instructions read the side of the can you get. I think they may all be different.

When I clean mine I use the cleaner then let it set for a minute or two. Then I rinse with warm tap water (Don't use High Pressure or your filter will come apart). Also always rinse from the inside out. Never rinse from the outside in or the dirt will just imbed itself into the filter more. Then let air dry completely before oiling. Rub (with your clean hands) the oil into the filter so it gets in all the little holes really good. You don't need to saturate the filter just cover it thoroughly.

Then put her back in. At least this is how I do it.

Tip: I usually clean the filter first thing when I service my 4-wheeler and put it back in as the last thing I do before I fire it up. That way it has time to completely dry so I can oil it and go. [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif[/img]

 

Also the wire mess piece is so that the filter keeps it shape. If it was not there the filter would collapse.
