I am going to be traveling to Moab, Utah this weekend with a buddy, and am borrowing a 96 Bayou 400 from a friend to take along for the week. I have a 2000 Polaris Sportsman 500, and have no knowledge whatsoever of the Bayou.
Does anyone know of any quirks of this particular machine that I should be aware of? Can it go a full day without refueling like my SP500? My friend is a dealer, so I know it is in good shape and has had all the service. Little things, like knowing that using low range on the SP500 on tough hills will prevent belt wear, could mean the difference between an enjoyable week and a miserable week. Thanks in advance for your help.

No need to worry about a belt on the Bayou 400 since it includes a manual-shift, autoclutch transmission. It is also full-time 4WD.

Be sure to let us know how it performs.
