Default 14mins goes to FSW's

First off i had a blast. I put a face on at least a 100 forum members. Blueleader and i have posted opposite opinions on a few occasions but meeting him in person was great. I had a great time hanging out with the jiggle crew. He is the party monster and witty one of the group. In the end he bought my 01 dyna box since it would not work on my new 03. I think he had the fastest trinity686 of the whole bunch out there.

Shortly after we arrived we headed out to Olds hill. Raptorrrc, Crafty and i made a few runs up the hill. I had our drag pipe on and could not hammer thru the woops for fear of breaking the pipe off. (actually i could not hammer thru the woops anyway) I was extremely happy with the way i was pulling the hill. Our other 2 craycraft bikes needed more octane towards the top of the hill. After looking and talking for a few minutes we decided to head back to camp for more octane. MichealAZ brought some VP red out for us so we did not have to haul it from Texas. On the way back to camp from olds hill i sheared the dogs off my 2nd gear. Back at camp i told Bob i thought that i lost 2nd gear, but i did not want to check it out. Bob went and looked and said i did. There was a little discussion about putting everything from the cyclinder up from my bike on the "TRAILER qUEEN". There was no way that i could do that to Bob's pride and joy. Bob offered to let me ride one of his quads the rest of the week end but shortly after getting up on Friday Ward660 offered to take me to Yuma to get a new quad. So off we went and we returned with a stock 03 for 6650.00 out the door. We rolled that new 03 to the dyno and made 31hp. I never rode that new one. Biggerisbetter with the help of DSmike and steve were in the trailer putting a new valve in his Bomb. After he was done we rolled the 01 into the trailer and RRC, Crafty, ward660 and i went to work tearing it down. We started at around 11 pm. In a short while we rolled the 03 in and went to work tearing it down and rebuilding with the 01 parts. By the time we were done we had the bumper, nerfs, seat, shocks and grill replaced by 4:30am.Blueleader and his film crew captured all this on tape. It fired right off the bat and i decided to cruise the compound at 5:00 am with the drag pipe. We all went to sleep and were awaked around 9:00 am by BiggerisBetter and his jetting runs. RRC, Crafty, Ward660 and i decided to see the dunes. I rode the new 03 ALL day thru the dunes with the drag pipe on. Back at camp Scooby was at work in the trailer installing a used clutch in that 120 HP monster.

The dyno was the next mission on the list and off we went. We bolted the slicks on and got ready for the dyno run. When it was over the number was 67 HP. There was not another Raptor in camp that was able to post better numbers. The dyno was open and free, so no excuses for not dynoing your quad. All the bikes dynoed the same way and seemed fair. I was a lillte concerned because i was not able to use my new CDI box or a few other parts off the 01. All in all i was grateful that we were able to make that happen in the Craycraft trailer. I had nothing for the SPARKS BIKES. Those were a sight to see. GregV offered me his new extended swing arm when we returned from a "man ride" I appreciated it but we were to tired to make it happen at 1 am. I talked to Sparks after the races and he was one nice cat. Before we left the hill on Sunday Harry from trinity lined up with Jeffinrivercity for a run up Banshee hill. Jeff DESTROYED the Kings quad from start to finish and the king was no slouch. TO ME it looked like only 35 quads were racing for king of the HILL out of the 200 plus quads that were there at camp and built. I am glad that Sparks came and won but i do believe that there were faster DS's that chose not to run. Thanks SPARKS. Sparks had the raptors covered wether they used 85 or 130 or 200 pound riders. They made many, many runs up the hill. I do think they had batteries in there quads!!!!. Why did only a few quads out of 200 race?? To me the course was not as promised that it would be. Crafty and i could not run full out thru the woops, nor could others out there. Who cares there were dunes to ride and forum members to talk to. We went back to camp to discuss the days events. Back at camp we went and sat around the fire with patsraptor, exterinator, Blueleader, michealaz, roostking, wyoduner and many many more. Mhargrove was in the process of loading up and i talked to him for a few moments. He has a fast 465 on the NOS. Job well done. The camp was packing up in front of us. Only a few were left on monday morning and we went to china wall with roostking leading the way and gregv doing the video. 2badraps bent a tie rod on the way back. Back at camp we loaded up to head back to Texas after saying a few goodbyes. Wshrdskin and eaglecollector were driving off and stopped for a moment along with markynark. Over the couse of a few days i meet some many i can not name them all in this post. Vegas650, the vegas boys, majorecho(loaned me some carb cleaner) shaneeb and many many more. Thanks for the T-shirt King, Blueleader and the Hat from Exterminator. I looked of Nick and never found him.

All in all i am glad that i made the trip. I enjoyed it all. I was a little disapointed that i was not able to race up the hill as i felt i had a fast quad. There were broken quads scattered all around the camp. Cam chains look to become a issue with raptors. I was dissapointed in all the Big name shops. The small backwood shops seemed to have a big edge over the Big boys. Were there any Fourstroke Techs, powrolls,CT's running?? How many motors were lost?? I doubt that i return to next years FSW's as i perfer flat 300 and 660 drags were HP does the talking.

Hey guy! Sounds like the crew really had a great time. Sorry I missed it. The closer it came time for you to leave, the more it was eating on me. I was expecting you to come home "The King of the Mountain". Oh, yeah, I like your style....if it breaks, just go buy a new one. Later, Dick

14mins, is there still a difference in the CDI boxes on the CALI. models? Suppose to be 3-4 more HP there isn't there? Glad to see some of the small guys do well.

Man I need to move closer, just reading these post blows!
