List your mods

Please list your modifications on your AC. Let us know which is your best mod and why.
Here are my mods so far:
1. 2x2, 4x4, 4x4locked front- Best mod, it was free to do (Thanks to Mudracer, and Mudpuppy on this forum)
2. Moose lift kit
3. K&N air filter
4. Warn 2500 winch
5. O'neal grips- Probably the second best mod. They were only $5 on sale, and are totally soft to the touch and absorb a lot of vibrations.
6. TAG- XS chromoly handlebars (with cross-bar)
7. 2inch hitch ball
8. Front stick stoppers
9. Painted wheels black
Future mods I am thinking about:
1. Paint wheels black (Done!)
2. Larger more aggresive tires (Size and brand?)
3. Exhaust pipe (brand?)
4. Rack extentions, or modification
5. 55w driving lights
6. Rear stick stoppers
7. Odessey dry cell battery
8. Relocate the battery to underneath the seat
9. Rear suspension geometry- Give it more negative chamber, the lift kit gave the rear wheels positive chamber. The suspension is not adjustable so I will have to "ovalize" the lower arm pick up points on the frame and slide the lower A arms further out.

The Warpony is a 1999 Arctic Cat 500 ATV That I bought in the spring of 99 at Olson's Outdoor sports in Mahnomen, Minnesota. At that time we just called it "the Thing" as everyone would say "It sure is a big thing" or "wow that thing will go anywhere". To date I have put over 7500 miles on her with vary little trouble. In the summer of 2000 I created what we now call the Warpony. Here is a list of the modifications I did to her.
28"X12.5"X12" Outlaw Tires on all four's * ITP Magnum Billet Wheels * 2" Lift Kit * Dura-blue wheel spacers * K&N Filter Charger * Spot Light * Herculiner Coated Racks & Floorboards * Poly-tech Brushbuster fairing/windshield w/dash accessory kit * Kimpex Front &Rear Bumpers * Handlebar Mirror * Tow/pulling system * Backup Light *T1500 Superwinch w/****** block & Roller Fairlead * DigitalCompass *Arctic Cat Shock Covers * Custom made Headlight Protectors* Radiator Fan Switch * AC CV Boot Protectors (outer) Custom made Boot Protectors (inner)* Custom made Diamond Plate Aluminum Bash Plate * Custom made Stainless Steel Exhaust Snorkel * Rack mounted Maglight * Warn Trail Lights * Duel Blue Brake Lights * Purple running Lights on side's of front rack
The only down side of doing all this is the ware and tear that the wheel spacers have on the rear bearings. Also by mounting the big 28"X12.5"x12" Outlaws on the front as well as the back makes steering heavy and puts more wear on the tie rod ends. You must also be careful not to let the wheels **** to one side or the other when going down hill or the CV's could be damaged. Other then that it's great running and fun to drive ATV.

The quality on my digital camera is poor. One of these days I will go and buy better one....
If I do take some pics, can I just upload them directly onto this forum or does it need to be hosted by my ISP?

Excellant Mudracer. I finally have a name for my AC, it is "Billy", as in a billy goat... with all four wheels locked it just about climbs anything.
There is a hill near where I live, and I would get stuck going up this one particular section (I would run out of traction). I can now climb it all the way to the top. "Billy" still has a hard time with traction, but its now got 4 wheels clawing up the hill...
This was before the lift kit. I wonder if Billy would have a harder time going up the same hill with the lift kit installed.
Thanks again for sharing your knowledge. Hope I can repay it back someday.
