Default 2003 Banshee Or Raptor?

Love the Two stroke And Four stroke, Which do you think is faster? I'll be on alot of open trails with alot of jumps? Also is the banshee's throttle hard on the thumb stock? Please let me here from banshee owners as well as raptor owners?

I have ridden a Banshee quite a bit, my brother has one, and I found the thumb throttle to be VERY stiff, it has an extender on it, this makes it a little better, but my thumb was very soar after a long ride.

my throttle is also very stiff, but its worth the pain. i love my two stroke. i have never ridden a rappy, but i think they are both great bikes. i would say if your familiar with two strokes then go for the shee, if your more into four strokes, then get the rappy. i like the thought of not having to rebuild, so the rap may be a better choice, unless your kinda stupid like me.(i can't ride a 4 stroke, i love the lightswitch powerband)

which would you say is faster. I would say the banshee, But I am not sure? Is the banshee pretty reliable? I used to race motocross so rebuilds are easy, But would like to how long you guys rebuild just trail riding etc? Also is the banshee pretty good stock? (ie pipe etc?)

Yea, slap a set of pipes on a banshee and your untouchable by any other quad that is only piped ( a LT 500 will be pretty close, but the Rappy and DS are HISTORY!)... The banshee really comes alive with pipes!

As far as reliability, i have a friend with a 95 that is still on the top end and it runs good still. Lots of high speed trail riding and rock climbing... Another guy has a 96 with the same top-end. Only rebuilt it to freshen it up, still ran fine. I went 3 years on mine unitl I broke a ring. In other words, they are reliable(hell id say way more reliable than a Raptor you should have seen all the Rappy's broke down during FSW!!! I wont even go there with a certain buddies red Raptor...

If you dont have problem with basic maintanance, then there is only one choice THE BANSHEE! If you want to put about $3000 into the suspension, just so it wont tip over, get a Raptor. Also you need to put another 2000 into the motor just to run with a Banshee! You might want to talk to BattoutaHell, he bought a Raptor, then a Banshee. Ask him which one he rides more!

Uhhhhhhhh.........thanks for throwing me into the mix here rk.

Well, the raptor is for sale, so draw your own conclusions. But to be fair it has been ultra reliable and a great machine.

But it does not get ridden very much at all. The banshee is my favorite and is faster. I have most of the bolt on mods to my shee and it will outrun my other bikes up sand mtn utah by about 10-15 bike lengths with my fat butt at the controls and my lighter friends on my other machines.

The only problem I am having now is that I want to mod the banshee even more, and it is driving me nuts. Just cant decide what to do next.

I am keeping the DS though, I need something that is not too wild for my wife to ride. If it were just for me, I would keep this banshee as is, and purchase another banshee to make the wild ride for hillshooting and drag racing.

well, I guess I threw in my thoughts on the subject.
