i was looking into buying a 400 ex i was wondering whats the deal with the fourtrax cause you dont see many of them. Is it the same as the sport just 4 wheel drive.. any info would be aprreciated i am kind of knew to this.

 

The easy way to explain it is the sportrax is the ex sport line of new Hondas, such as the 400ex 300ex and 250ex.
The fourtrax name is used to discribe the utility side of Honda and is also the old line of sports that Honda made like the 250x that became the 300ex. Honda doesn't make a sport 4x4.

 

Actually if they are both 400EX the difference is the year. In '99 and '00 they were called TRX400EX FourTrax. It wasn't until '01 that they introduced the new name Sportrax. It was just a name and graphics change.
