Would using a lighter weight oil hurt anything or help. Or even going with a 10w 30. Info please.

 

I see you're in Louisiana -- 10w40 would probably be a good all year round oil for that climate

 

if you run in an AVERAGE temp of 75 degrees or less 10-30 is great, if your running hot on a hot day better go 10-40, if your runnin over 100 degree outside temp, like here in TX, youd better be runnin 20W-50

these numbers based on the recomendations of the 01 manual
