Seems like no one knows the answer to that question. I have my dealer looking into it, the instructions that are susposed to come with the slip on says no jetting recommended. But that doesn't say anything about with the K&N filter. I"m going to be e-mailing K&N on the issue, I would think that they did a little research on the subject. I would also like to know what HP increase the bike is susposed to have with the Slip-on and a K&N.

You guys have me a little worried now. I havn't yet fired it up (waiting for my header pipe to get back from Jet-Hot) But after reading a number of posts, I went with the following set-up. W/B's slip-on, removed airbox and installed a carb mounted K&N with outerwear, 160 main, clip on fourth notch down (one richer then stock) and I exposed the fuel mixture screw which I'll dial in once I start it up and fine tune it. I thought I'd be pretty close but now I'm wondering if I'm going to be extremelly rich. I might just lower the needle one notch before I start it. Tell me, why don't I read anything about anyone else drilling out the plug in the carb which will expose the fuel mixture screw? I understand that not only does this meter the idle circuit, but also right off idle until about 1/8th throttle where the pilot jet and needle take over.
Well, I wanted to share where I was on this topic. I guess I'll just start it up once I get the exhaust on, header's sopposed to be on my porch today, ride safe but nutz all, Putt

The WB slip-on is supposed to add almost 6hp to the predator.

By the way. I got the part number for the Pure Polaris Headpipe from the paperwork that came with the W/B's slip on muffler, # 2874453. I ordered this headpipe kit from Parker Yamaha/Polaris on-line, which i order all my parts from (www.parkeryamaha.com) and they sent my order back to me saying it was a discoontinued part number and there isn't an alternative. Anyone know the scoop of the Head Pipe W/B's and Polaris are sopposably working on? Putt

Hey, how does your predator compare to your DS650. Stock for stock?

I drilled out my plug and found out it was 1 1/2 turns out from the factory. service manual say's 2 1/2 turns. set mine the way mikuni says to and ended up @ 2 1/2 turns out. it starts alot better now. not cold natured like it was before. I have tried every possible jetting combo out there. 2x3 hole, clamp on filter, up to a 170 main jet, 12 disc in the pipe to 6 disc. After working with gary @ superbike shop, I ended up with the factory airbox stock (K&N) filter with the snorkle removed, 160 main jet, needle in the second from top position, 6 disc in the pipe. This setup yeided the best 1/8 mile dragstrip times. no popping, engine pulls all the way to the rev limiter. I am going to try running a 155 main this weekend to see what happens. we tried to open up the airbox, but it slowed down and begin to pop, but the plug would read rich.(same with clamp on). temp, and altitude is going to play into your jetting, there is no one jet fits all. i noticed as the temp got around 70 degree's it started to feel a little flat, hince trying a 155 this week if it gets warm. the 160 was perfect @ 30 degree's.

Thanks for that info SP700. Totally informative. You accually got better number's with the stock airbox in place as opposed to the K&N Clamp on huh? I would have never thought that would be the case, maybe I better pull the stock airbox off of E-Bay. I might be making a mistake selling it. Putt

SP700RACER Where do you live? What altitude are you at?
I have same setup minus removing my snorkel as I was afraid to get sand in the air box.
Bike pops like hell especialy going hard through whoops. Hoping Gary's airbox kit will help .....

Aside from that do you notice that the bike runs hot? My right leg and boots gets major hot while riding.
Could this point to a lean condition?
