Default Cold Weather Jetting?

Is riding in zero degree weather hard on four wheelers? Is the cold air causing my machine to run lean, or is it not enough to make a difference? What is this I hear about having to drill out a plug on the carb to adjust the air screw, what reason could there possibly be for capping this off? Is there any other way of getting at the adjustment, I heard of someone who drilled to far and into the jet? This sounds pretty crude to me. Thanks.

Four strokes are far less suseptable to temp changes than a two stroke. Check your spark-plug, and go from there.
