Default Problems with engine cutting out

I have a friend with a 93' Polaris 350 and it won't stay running when you give it gas. It will idle for a while and then cut out. Whaen he pulls out the spark plug it wet w/ gas and it filed. He'll put a new plug in and it will run for a while and cut out again w/ plug filed and soaked in gas. Any suggestions on what might be wrong with it? Any help would be appreciated.

check to see if the air intake is plugged.
it is the tube that goes from the air box to the underside of the gas tank. There is some foam thatis under the gas tank,MAKE SURE THAT IT IS NOT GETTING SUCKED IN TO THE TUBE. this will cause it to run rich and fall on its face. A easy fix to this is to cut the air tube straight so it can not suck the foam in.
This happened to my sp500 h.o. a very easy fix.

are you talking about the pre filter? If so ditch it and clean the air filter more often. But anyway be sure there are no restrictions

A somewhat common happening with the older Polaris 2-strokes is a float valve wearing out. This causes the engine to run too rich at everything except idle and full throttle. Any amount of part-throttle will be way too rich. One more thing to try, but look for intake obstructions, including a clogged air filter first.

Hey FTWFLH,
Let me get this straight, Kenny 2 said he can run circles around your Polaris with his Honda. Now did you happen to see his reply,he actually list what he owns. He says he owns a Honda and a Sporstman. It sounds like he is running circles around his own atv's and gives me the impression by his constant Polaris bashing that he is dizzy and confused whatya think??????
