Default QUESTION ABOUT MAPING ON A SPEED..

Hey whats up guys i was wondering if anyone has had any problems with their c-dale after maping it out?i have a 02 speed i had it maped to a moto with a hmf pipe.and i blew the oring in the head and was leaking anti freeze, and another guy was running the same set up i had but on a 03 speed, and after about 50 hours wasted the cam bearing.the dealer told me i should map to a blaze instead but i like the top end power of the moto maping.does anyone know if this is the reason for my head gasket blowing and the other guys cam bearing?or was it just a freak thing?im not sure if i should run that maping anymore.

If the dealer did not write down all your parameters and enter them back in, then that could be the cause. There's no WAY this would be the result of a properly mapped engine. The internals are all the same across the board....I'd question the dealer.

I second JCV's comments. The same motor is used in all the quads and bikes, the only difference is the exhaust. When installing a map, the injector offset, flowrate and TPS are specific to your quad and need to be saved. They also keep a record of these settings at the factory by vin#, I would check what these settings are now and see if you can get the originals from the factory and compare.

hey thanks guys for the info,i was just wondering, when you say you have to save the injector adjustments, flowrate, tps, does this mean they are used when you remap to somthing else or just if you want to go back to the stock map?

Those things need to stay the same on your quad no matter what map you use. The problem is they are also stored in the maps, so if your dealer didn't follow the proper mapping procedures they may have the wrong setting in your quad. The flowrate seems to be the same on most, but the injector offset can be vary different. The wrong injector offset could cause an excessive lean or rich condition in the motor.

Check out the mapping instructions and you'll see what we're talking about.
