Thinking of buying a C-dale........kinda scared
#1
I am thinking about buying a Cannondale Speed while the deals are good. The thing I am afraid of is I will get this thing, which looks like great quad, and then when something breaks I won't be able to get parts? How well do these quads hold up and what happens if the C-dale motorsports division goes under? Will I be stuck with a broken quad I can't ride?

No problems any more. It seems to be that cannondale motorsports has a prominent buyer. They were at the dealer expo. New quads and parts will be available around November. Buy the darn quad and ride the heck out of it. You will have perma-smile.
I have had mine for over 10 months and not one problem. The frames are super strong. These cannondales have been race tested, they win and win often. Yea they brake, but so does any other quad out there.

Deals are great right now, there is some risk involved though. Cannondale moto is up for auction and we all assume that someone will buy the company out of bankruptcy the first part of March. The product is great and currently you can get most any part you want.
A customer that bought a C'dale ATV from us was in last week and said something interesting, his comment was that if the new owners start building some of the new product out of the US, such as motors, the US built product could have a better resale value.
Wish I had a better answer, you can buy now and get a great deal, or wait until there is a new owner and see what their plans are, and of course pay a lot more or even get less goodies for your money.

Personally I am a conservative guy, I dont take many risks. Although I am a Cannondale retailer and have only a few vehicles on stock, consumers are looking, but if you wait a few more weeks to a month you will know a lot more about what is going on.
A few weeks isnt going to hurt anything and even though you wont get the vehicle at cost, you will be more assured to get top level parts and service. Its up to how much risk you want to take to save money.
So 14mins, I actually agree with you. Wait a few more weeks.

The RISK - I see on the RAD site they only offer a 30 day warrentee !! on the stuff they are selling now. Buy now and I doubt there is any warrentee unless you PAY top dollar from a GOOD dealer that WILL take care of you. Steal the thing at a rock bottom price, expect no warrentee, parts are available and fix it yourself. I built a Houser/YZF brand new. Guess what kind of a warrentee I have.
