V-plow vs. regular?

About to purchase a plow and wanted to know the goods and bads about both? I have about 300 feet of sideswalks and wanted to know which is better. The sidewalks are 4 foot wide. How wide are both plows when angled? Thanks

The V plow always seemed like a waste to me. I angle my plow one way, then work in the appropriate direction, either starting to the left or right, and keep pushing the snow until cleared. With the V plow, you're just splitting the snow, and not really making any headway, so it seems to me.

The Polaris V-plow has 4-5 settinig for each blade,
plus 5 settings for the whole thing,
Thre v is great for sidwalks when theres big heavy snow
or busting out your driveway when the plow train plows leaves
4 ft high by 5' wide piles of snow in your driveway.
Just fold both blades in all the way and go
the inverted v is like a scoop, and snow dosent roll of fthe sides as much.
I dont like the V because it dosent leave a clean path.

Hey Guys,
The county plow that moose makes is angled only one way like the big county plows and does not split in half like the the v-plow. check out either moose plow or cycle country. I have had a cycle country plow on my suzuki king quad and I now have a moose 4ft reg style plow on my SP500 HO. I like the moose better for the ease of operation and the tech support if you have any problems. The angle mech on the moose is right on top. The lever and pin that is used to angle the plow is on the top side where it can freeze from plowing all the snow. On the cycle country plow the pin goes straight down through the angle mounting plate and the pivothole is exposed on the underside of the plow frame to all the slush and snow and will freeeze up on you. This was my main complaint with the cycle country. Now maybe they have changed it I don't now, bit Ilike the way the moose plow is constructed. Also if you own a polaris check out their plows.I Like how they mount to the trailer hitch at the rear of the atv.

Hey Army ,
It's up to you but I like the other guys said, I would just get a reg plow and angle it and work in the apporiate direction. I have been plowing with an atv for 17 years and I still like the reg plow, but if it gets to deep I get out my Ariens 13hp 36 " wide path and throw the white junk about 50-60 feet . Now as for getting a snowblower for the front of your atv, i wouldn't, it puts to much weight on the front of the atv. But then again that is just my 2 cents for what it's worth.
We are getting another snowstorm right now as we speak, so i know what i will be doing tomorrow. again good luck.

hey army i run a 48 in. cycle country straight plow on mine and it works fine my cuz had a v-plow and said it was more of a hassle and waste of money to him than it was good, i have great luck with my straight plow, and BIG BAD BRAD was talkin bout a moose county plow on this forum, they wudnt do much good, they are just a small version of a snow plow that the city/state usues on a roadway, they have an angle to them so it throws the snow farther but only one way, id stick with a straight blade either from Cycle Country or Moose, they come in 48", 50-52" and 60" sizes, good luck

Can you tell me where I can find one of these?
Maybe a web-site
Here's an update on the V....
I did 31 drive ways today(cha ching$$)
and have another 30+ to due.
The V got the snot kicked out of it,
The hinge bars are bent, the bolts are broken, the pins are shot.
But I'll tell ya this...
My stright blade could not have done it.
The average snow was 3-4 ft high by 7-8 ft wide(then it was 20 inches after that) of hard plowed snow
all I had to do was get from the street to the house.
Ya run the V full throttle with the blade up all the way and and folded in ,
then drop the blade down and do it again.I was getting a couple feet per shot
It's like a submarine going through.
If I used a stright blade, angled,it would just hit the snow and throw the bike to the side.
So the V has one good point.
Agreed not worth the $$
