If you dont want to spend the extra cash on a port job and dont need all that much power you can do what I did.I had my dealer tell me how he does his enduro bikes when he does them. All he told me was to smooth out all the rough edges and make it like a mirror. This help the throttle respones but I cant tell much on topend due to my pipe is for low to mid range. It has taken some time to get every thing adjusted where it works right.By the way if you dont have a few hours to put into this it would be cheaper and better to have Bubba do it.

i am no expert but i don't think you want to polish the intake port area up. I believe you want to polish the exhaust port up but not the intake port area. You just want to cean up the rough edges but not polish it to a mirror finish. I could be wrong anybody else have any input on this

I had my porting done by Race Logic and it gave me a great power increase. I can't comment on the templates though because they actually did the porting for me. I guess it all depends on whether or not you have the gonads to mess with your cylinder.
I considered trying the templates but I wussied out and let them do it for me instead.
How's the saying go "No guts, no glory".
