Default new to forum-jetting/performance question

Okay,

I am a bit confused with the needle clip position. Please advise me if I need to change this stock position. I have the 03' LE raptor and these are the mods:

pro-circuit t4 slip-on
k&n airfilter stock airbox with outerwear, cut out airbox lid
mikuni 150/155 main jets(big chore doing this first time versus my old 400ex)
not sure of altitude, live in kansas
idle screws out 3 1/4 turns
stock pilots, etc...

Very responsive at idle and quick acceleration. My only hangup is going down the road wide open in second gear, then when I shift into third, it cuts out a bit. This also happens from third to forth gear, and forth to fifth. It just burps and farts a little, then accelerates fine. If anyone has any recommendations, I am all ears. New to this forum, it's great. Thanks!

I looked up your elevation for wichita, Kansas and your elevation is roughly 3000ft depending on where you what county you live in. You may need to move your needle clip down one and up your jets to 160/165

Thanks for the reply. As far as the needle clip, I really don't know much about the location, how to get to it, adjust it, etc...
I forgot to mention that I did also remove the snorkel...

Those 8 gold float bowl screws on the bottom of the carb were sure a pain in the a$$ to remove!

Hey, thanks again for the help. I will remove the plug and see if it shows that I am running lean. Also, a little white smoke blows out when I rev. it in neutral when it is warm. Is this also a sign of running lean?

That sounds great! I am always looking for new places to ride, esp. around here. We usually go to little saraha, but went to glamis for new years. Where do you ride, and what are your jetting settings and specs. Thanks for the reply!

Checked the elevation on that site and it showed 1305ft.

Thanks snakes for the site.

I just restricted my airbox lid with tape and put the snorkel back on and it ran the best it ever has......

So now should I go with main jets 155/160, or should I go 160/165? I was running lean with the 150/155 setup....

Thanks in advance for the advise....
