I have changed the tranny fluid twice now on my 2002 SP700 after it took a swim, and both times, when I take the drain plug off, the tranny fluid will just drip out very slowly. I need to leave the drain plug off overnight for all the fluid to drain out. I have the fill plug removed when the drain plug is off to prevent a vacuum.

Has anyone else changed the tranny fluid? I run Mobil 1 gear lube in it, and it sits in a heated garage. I even tried running it with the rear wheels off the ground to help drain it.

Is this normal?

Mine drians slow to but pull your dip stick out while your draining it that well help.....you get an air lock with the stick still in....

 

The SP700 does not have a dipstick, only a fill plug.

Everything did drain out overnight, so I guess it just takes a while.

Well ok but my sportman700 02 has a dip stick on the left side.It says engine oil lock when fliped down it lock so no water can get in....

 

sorry I thought you were talking about the oil I got to thinking about it....silly me
