Hey folks. New to the forum and the ATV world (got too old for my KX). I just got a new Magnum 325. Havent't ridden it too hard and the weathers been cold around 40 or so....but I dont think the fan ever comes on. At work i use a Kaw 360 and that fan comes on all the time and is loud. The dealer said this is quite common with the 325 and that the fan comes on only in warmer weather or when it sits at idle for a while. Any help out there?

well the fan will actually come on alot in the winter too cus the machine acutaly runs hoter if you leave the stock jets in it. and no the fans are very quite but all you have to do is run it a long time or let it sit and idle and see if the fan comes on, if it hasent before the hot light would have came on.

 

I have a Trail Boss 325 (very similar engine), and my fan only comes on if I have a rider, riding in the summer, OR if I am riding solo pretty hard, and even then it takes a while. It is quiet, but noticeable.

Since we got Holly's 325 Magnum, we don't ride double anymore, and we don't ride hers very hard at all, so I'm not even sure I've ever heard the fan turn on with her machine.

On my scrambler, my fan rarely comes on. It will only do it after i have been running wide open for a while and then sit and let it idle or rest. At first i thought that it didnt work because my friends DS650 comes on ALL the time and it is very loud. My fan is very quiet, just a hmm.

 

Had two 325 mag 4x4s in the past. The fans hardly ever came on. Never had a problem with either.

 

I had a 00 Trailboss 325 and the fan very rarely came on unless it was very warm out and I was crawling or pulling something. Dealer told me not to worry that all of them do that.

 

I also have a magnum 325 and my fan only comes on when it is really hot outside and you are riding hard, so it only comes on when it really needs to.
