ds650 skids,rev limiter and a BIG GUN!
#1
If anyone heres of a cheaper rev box then the ron wood one please let me no.I cant see spending 300 bucks on one when probably within a month someone will come out with one for around 100 dollars. Also I just ordered all of the skid plates for the ds650 from prm-atv.It includes A-arm plates, full skid for under the frame and the rear axel skid.Cost on it was 225 dollars plus shipping.I had these same skids on my 300ex and they are awsome, much better then the clamp type that dg makes.Im hoping that the ds skids are just as nice.Im not sure of their phone # but the web sight is www.prm-atv.com.I will keep you posted on how they fit.Im also going to order the Big-Gun exuast this week. They said they were going to be shipping out.I will also keep you up on that. They should be shipping out my big gun system on monday. They told me on the phone I should see an extra 10 hp from the pipe with only 1 jet change on the main jet.It should give me power increase in all power ranges but they also told me with the way rev limiter kicks in so early they really could not test the high end of the pipe correctly.I guess they did not want to spend 300 bucks either on the ron wood cdi box,and i dont blame them. The reason I went with the big gun is it has some ceramic coating on the head pipe that looks real nice and also stays cool a lot better. The main reason I went with the pipe is because its not a megaphone pipe.I ordered it with the quite insert. If there is one thing i cant stand is a real loud 4 stroke.I read a few articles on the big gun exaust they put on 400ex and every one was happy with the results.I will let everyone no next week how the pipe turns out.If I remember correctly the head pipe and silencer cost around $450 and comes with the race insert.I also ordered the quite insert for around $16 bucks. I received my PRM skid plates about 2 weeks ago.
The fit was 95% good. One A arm plate wasn't trimmed quite enough but presented very little problem. I've only riden once with them and they performed flawlessly.
Warning: the stock plastic swing arm skid is difficult to remove on the brake rotor side.
I loosened the axle lock nut to allow the axle to slide to create enough room to remove the stock skid bolts. Just a heads up.
