Tires for Predator
#1
I'm looking for some rear tires with better traction for my Predator. Where we ride, it has mud, ruts, rocks and all the other stuff that makes it a little tougher on the sport quad. Any recommendations? I've read some about the Holeshot ATR, but most of the more aggressive tires I've seen are for the utility machines. I'm thinking about going up to a 22 inch tire in the rear for a little more clearance, which would help.
I'd sure appreciate some expert advice.

Thanks Z, but I had the XCT's on my Scrambler. To me, they're about the same as what I have on there. The tread is real similar. They weren't very good in the mud, and if it hadn't have been for the four wheel drive on my Scrambler, it would have been a problem. I'm hoping to get something more aggressive, but not too aggressive for a sport quad.
Thanks

Well i have 22" realters on the rear of my Pred, they work mint in the snow..not sure about mud and stuff..have to wait till everything thaws out i guess! I was gonna run my stock tires when summer hit anyways,...if i found a good deal on some extra rims, that would be mint, i hate having to drive an hour into town to find a place to swap my tires over!

I'm thinking about getting the Kenda Klaws or knarles for the rear of mine. They look more aggresive then the Razors, but not as bad as the utility tires. There have been some good write ups on the Klaws in DW Mag, so I think that is the route I'm going. I ride in the same type of terrain.

I put a set of 22 realtors on my Pred about a month ago, they work great! I ride alot of mudy trails and they haven't let me down yet. If you go with the realtors you better change your sprockets. Stock gearing way to high, very impressed with my new tires, they kick @ss.

Bouser, what is your gearing now? I have already dropped to a 13 in the front. I was thinking of a 22 inch tire and a 40 tooth for the rear. Is this what you are running?

With my 22" realters, i went with a 13t front, and have a 38t rear on order..it seems to work good with the 13t..when it had the 14 it was WAY too tall! On one of the trails here its pretty slow going, so im hoping the 38t rear will help!
