Default suggestions and questions on the scrambler 500

ight the first thing i did was get rid of those stock rims......i put itps on it will a polish(looks nice)
2) i went on polarisindustiries.com and ordered a light guard......this guard goes over your front head lights and gives it a very mean look.......
3) hand guards...........this is really a opinion but i think it looks much cooler
4) hotseat seat cover
5) nerfbars
6)hot seat back grab bar

this is what i have done to it so far:
1) hotseat 500 speedkit....Header, New Muffler with built-in spark arrestor, Hypershift clutch kit, K&N filter, jets
2) the new rims shaved off 20 pounds (5 pounds each) from the stock ones
3) ordered an all black body (no stickers!!) looks so ill

questions on next investments:
1)big bore kit 625cc.......how much/worth it?
2)secondary clutch......whats the difference?
3)700 twin belt......any difference/how much?
4)Hight Flow intake(hotseat)........good difference?
5)top end gasket kit(hotseat).......does this take anything off my accel?
6)42 mm carb.......big difference from the 40mm stock?

Default suggestions and questions on the scrambler 500

Do a search. There were some good posts a couple months ago with some very informative info. I personally think the flatslide 42mm carb is a very good way to wake up acceleration. I wouldn't waste too much money on air box mods. The stock airbox is very hard to modify properly to actually get any gain out of it. I would then slap a TEAM Industries roller clutch on that thing for excellent backshifting and response. It is very hard and very costly go get much more out of the H.O. engine. However, if you are willing to spend the money, go for it. I decided not to mostly because I would just be trying to turn the Scrambler into something it's not. After figuring suspension upgrades (Works Struts), pipe, clutch kit, carb, tires, WEIGHT, etc., I decided it was way cheaper to sell and get a used 400ex, which I am soon doing.

My neighbor put the air box mod on his 01 scrambler 500 4x4. He said he said he saw a huge difference he said it was worth every penny.

The HPd air box mod works nice, but that's if you are keeping the stock carb.

Default suggestions and questions on the scrambler 500

I just got a reply back form 4 stroke tech about their 628cc big bore kit

"The 628 kit is $350 for the crank (exchange) and $295 for the piston kit, sleeve and head gasket. It is $195 for the cam (exchange) and $95 for valve springs. No need for clutch set up. A pipe would be recommended."

I hope that you helped some. Also if you get the air box mod get the HPD one because it comes with all of the parts to rejet and recalibrate your carb. I also have the 700 belt. It is suppose to be a lot stronger and slip less. There is too much snow here right now for me to test it. I debated on getting the 700 belt or HPD kevlar belt. I was going to get the kevlar belt but I found out that if you ride at the same speed for a while that it will eventually wear a grove in your sheeves. So, I went with the 700 belt because I like ti ride long trips. If you riding is varied and you vary your speed a lot you can get the kevlar belt. Dont buy it from HPD though. Gates makes the belt for HPD. You can buy the very same Gates belt from NAPA for cheaper. The Gates #19AT4090
