i am going to get a new quad and i was wondering if i should get a raptor, warrior, z400, or predator 500. which one handles the best, and what are the top speeds of them? also, how does the 300ex compare to a warrior?

If I've said it once I've said it a thousand times!!!! Go with the Raptor!

LOL and the Warrior whouldn't be in the line up with the Z, Pred, or Rap... You can compare it to the 300EX, and in my oppinion I think I may lean toward the 300 just a little.

Now with that being said, if you would like then go buy a Z then there will be one more bike out there that I can pass with ease!!!

Where are you planning on riding your new quad? In the dunes my Raptor could not keep up with the Predators, but I can easily smoke those Z400's.

As far as top speed is concerned, the raptor and predator are going to be the fastest, and the top speed of those two is very comparable. When it came to close power in the engines of these two, the winner became the predator. It sit lower, wider, and is a power slider! Plus all the features you get on it, chrome .190 rims, maxxis razrs, stainless steel brakes, and suspension almost race ready, all this on a machine that still costs $500 less than the raptor. Don't get me wrong though, they are both excellent trail machines. But since I'm getting into racing this summer, the Pred was going to save me the most money in upgrades!! And if you ride trails and need reverse, then the choice is raptor. Pick through the stats, test ride each. Long story short, they are both good machines and you won't be disappointed. As far as the Z...I think there are better machines to spent the coin on...just my .02!

Sorry guys but I gotta pretty much agree with pudljmpr - especially with the tranny issue that I really dont think Yam has resolved yet. Just based on Yams crappy customer service associated with the 01 tranny issues I'm thinkin twice about Yam products in the future.

I've got over $10k (including purchase price) in mine and it's finally getting there AND I still havent touched the motor !?

Something to consider.......dont shoot me....

thanks guys, i was leaning towards the predator, but i wanted to see what you guys thought. i wasn't really thinking about getting a warrior, but because this is a yamaha forum i thought i would just add it in. i actually think that the warrior is a piece of s**t, not to affend any of you, but it is very nose heavy and not very reliable. i would still like to hear some more info from you guys about which is best and what makes them the best.

It dosent make any sence to ask people what quad you should like. Go test drive em or something. I wouldnt buy any of em on your list. I would rather have a banshee, or a bomb. Or a gas gas if I could get one.

If you can't ride, walk. If you don't know, ask. If you lean to far, you will fall. But if you can't see the writng on the wall, then you need glasses. Your in a Yami chat room. Raptor Duh!!! JMO.
