Default Outerwears Prefilter for Clutch Cover Exhaust duct?

i was thinkin, i have a Xplorer 400 and i do some mudding and creek riding, and ive only had my belt slip on my 2 times, and i dont really wanna snorkel the Belt housing exhaust duct cuz my dad uses the quad so i dont really wanna make it to xtreme, and he prob wudnt like knowing that i go into that deep of water, (sux only owning half of the wheeler) so i was wondering, since them OUterwears prefilters are suppose to be water repellant, could i put one over the exaust duct and then tape it on with some handy-dandy duct tape? im not sure if it would work or not, cuz the prefilter would let it breathe good i would think but i need some opinions here, maybe it will start a trend instead of snorkeling i dont really know but i think it may work good but im not for certain, anybody have any clues or ideas or even facts, anything with be of help to me!

Thanks, Haz!

Interesting idea. There are two kinds though, water-resistant, and non-resistant, make sure you're experimenting with the right one. Please post results.

Hey Haz, The problem with your driven clutch is probably broken helix button ramps in the clutch assembly. I had mine break on my 99 Sport. They are cheap and fairly easy to install new ones. It only cost about five bucks to buy new buttons. My quad is clutched and is a little harder on them than a stock setup. If not, maybe a broken helix. Hope this helps if you look into it yourself.

i asked the same question 2 years ago! those that done this had bad problems. as i have allready mentioned, buy the updated vent! your idea does allows to much heat to build in the clutch cover.
