Need help with my Raptors...Please???
#1
I just bought two new Raptors and put White Brother’s R4 Silencers on both.
Everything else, including the airbox and air filter, is stock.
I ride at sea level in Mexico and in the desert surrounding Phoenix.
I am going to increase my Main Jets to 145/150 and the Pilots to 25. I am going to leave everything else the way it is.
With the larger Pilot Jet, will I need to re-adjust my air screws? If so, which way should I turn them? Does counter-clockwise (out) make the mixture richer and clockwise (in) make the mixture leaner?
Does this sound like a good increase due to the Silencers?
Thanks,
Rob

Personally, if I plan on leaving the lid on, I would start with 160-165's (overkill, but safe) and work my way down if necessary. I ran 145-150 with the stock exhaust /w baffle removed once upon a time at sea level. Turn the pilots out (counterclockwise) a half turn from their present location. May as well toss the lids and go pro-flo, you eventually will anyway...

I had a ton of trouble with my carbs blowing off in the past and had too run 27.5's too cure the problem. This is'nt a problem for all Raptor owners for some reason.....so for you, I would try the stock pilots if you have'nt bought the larger pilots yet. With the stock pilots, I would back the pilot adjustment screws out 1 full turn (richer) and see how the machines like it. Don't be surprised if one machine likes more or less jetting too run strong.
