Default Golf carts

I know this is not the golf cart forum, but dont know where to post it so here goes.

I am thinking of getting the wife a golf cart to tote the new baby, and the boy when he does not want to be out riding. Where did you guys purchase them, and what brands are good and what to look out for and stay away from.

I know some of you guys have these, so any info would be great. I wish I still lived in pheonix, sun city must be the golf cart capital of the world, well maybe after florida.

Bat- I got a 96 EZ-GO, bought it from a local guy here that has been doing carts for 5 years. It's a 9HP gas motor which is pretty quick in the dunes. Faster than a lot of others. I paid $1900 for the cart $160 for the lift $375 for the rims and tires. It's got a 6" lift and 25" tires. The lift is realy easy to put on if you have the right tools.

Keep in mind that the dunes will be very bumpy in the cart for the baby, and there is very little shade when in the dunes. I installed seat belts and strapped a car seat in, she enjoyed it for about 15 minutes but then it started to be to much for her. We may end up selling it now that my wife has a bike. We just don't bring the baby enough to warrant it.

It is fun to cruise around though, check out my pics of us jumping it

we have a Kawasaki Mule that we bought from a local Kaw. dealer. Not exactly a golf cart, but has four wheel drive and rides damn good at the dunes.

Thanks for the info. I dont know for sure, it was a thought. Where we ride mostly, Little sahara utah there are paved roads and stuff, thought it might be fun for the wife to cruised the baby around, but I am not sure.

She is not sold on it either. Probably just wait and see what she thinks down the road.

Thanks again
Bat

Well we have a golf cart. It is a 1988 ezgo lifted. I posted pictures on here a while ago. It is alot of fun to cruise around camp on. If you have plenty of trailer space and would like to cruise around camp i would recommend getting one, they are a kick. If you look around you can find nice carts for around $1000 and do all the custom work yourself for under 1000. Sean

I see that you bought a 6" lift for an Ez-Go for $160. Where did you get the lift and does it drive well. I'm thinking about putting on some 24" tires and lift on my '91. Thanks. Email me back at teamkneeland@yahoo.com

I got it from a local guy, not sure where he gets them from. It rides really well, jumps well too

I'm not sure if my lift will work on a 91 but I'll try and find the guys # and see if he has one for a 91.

Are you in AZ?

KM- No, I'm in CA. The best lift I've seen is at desertsportcenter.com for $310. They have hust recently developed the lift for mine. E-mail me when you get the number from your guy. It comes with a new front end, shocks and blocks for the rear. If I can get it for less $ that would be great, especially if it rides good. Thanks.
