I own a 1998 Trail Boss and have been riding the hell out of it for the past 2 years with no problems . Just wondering if any other owners have been experiencing any problems with there bikes? Any feedback or opinions welcome.

I had a '99 Trail Boss and traded it in on a '00 250 Xplorer4x4. The only trouble that I had out of it was the right rear fender started melting where the muffler is just about to touch it. other than that, I loved it. I love the Xplorer more b/c of the Low range and 4WD. It sure is a whole lot better than my Arctic Cat. I've flipped that think twice easily and have gone over the same trail with the Xplorer and it never felt like it was going to flip. Plus, the Xplorer is a whole lot lighter so it goes through the mud much much better. I've had the Xplorer for about 2 weeks and have ridden about 50 miles in upper seventy-degree weather and the fender hasn't felt nearly as hot as the T-Boss was.

I bought a 97 Trail Boss for my daughter a couple of years ago and have had no trouble with it. The only thing I dislike about it is that the brakes make a loud rattling sound when applied while backing up. I had this problem since day one and have had it to the dealer while under warrenty. They claimed it was dirt contaminating the rotors. I'm unsure if this is a common issue with this machine but other than that, it has performed flawlessly and I am very happy with it.

Dont let the dealer tell you the noise you heard backing up was dirt. I had the same problem. Replacing the back break with a softer pad cured this for me. The pad that come stock is hard as steel. Its also a lot cheaper pad. Thanks for your input, hope i provided a little back. Ride safe.
