Purpose for changing sproket
#2
To change the gear ratio. If you drop teeth in the front or add teeth in the rear, you are going to gear it lower, i.e.more torque, pull harder, shift more often, hit the rev limiter sooner, lower top speed
If you go the other way you have the opposite, mostly a higher speed.
1 tooth in the front roughly equals 3 teeth in the back, so counter shaft sproket changes are more dramatic.
I replaced the stock front sproket on my Z with on with one less tooth (13 I think), for the dunes, and was able to go back to stock with my LRD system.
Good Luck

Thanks for the info , I really dont know which way I want to go , I have all ready lost top end cause the exhaust and the lid being off,
I would like to bring back the top end but I ride a lot dunes and hills , so I think I need more torque
