Default Those running bigger rear sprocket on predator

I ordered a 39 tooth rear sprocket from sprocket specialists and was wondering if I am going to have to buy a longer chain or if the stocker has enough adjustment to get some more slack in it.

My predator just arrived at the dealer. They are putting on the remote rezzi's tommorow and I can pick it up on friday or sat. Man I cant wait. Sold the blaster 3 weeks ago and been waiting every since. Trying to decide what oil to use. I am not big on full synthetics( wet clutch reasons) so I am considering maybe Maxima4 Premium or good old yamalube. Anybody have anyother opinions.

Don't mean to not answer your question. I think a lot of people started sticking with the 38 tooth Polaris unit. I've had one in the shop, just haven't had time to install. You can do a search, I think Truckracer even posted gear ratios of the different combinations.

I don't know how much you paid for your rezzies, but I noticed on the Polaris web sit, that they were lowered to $169, instead of $189. This could save you $40.

Thanks alot. My neighbor is running stock gearing and it is just way to tall for trail riding and hill climbs. It sounds like the 39 will be a good choice for my type of riding. Just curious Vilrink what did you find out about your tranny?

Hey blueblaster, where is Anytown, IA, never heard of it, lol. I agree that the gearing was too tall stock. I went to the 38t rear, and that put it about perfect for trails and woods. if you go to a 39 you will lose more top end out of it, but 3rd gear has a hard acceleration when you gear down. Happy trails.

Vlrink or anybody else running the 39 rear and stock 14 front sprocket - can you comment on the difference in performance from stock.

Thanks,
Jeff

oops i didnt read your post clearly.......i meant 13-39 is a lot faster than 14-39. i couldn't get my predator to pull 2nd with 10 paddle haulers using 14 and 39, it does fine with the 13-39 tho
