Quad selection is always a personal choice. I would look at all the aspects of each quad, not just speed. Every quad will have its ups and downs you just have to find out whats important to you. I trail ride my DS all the time and think its great for the type of trails I ride. I would pick the Z400 over the 400ex, although your used market of Z400 are limited.

No you're not too small. You don't have to be large to ride the DS. It's just that the guys that are larger find this quad more comfortable. I can moonwalk.

Take care.

Once you get on,ride and really get the feel of a Dune Sled you will probable never want to ride anything else ever again. When I bought mine I was skeptical but after a days worth of riding I was convinced 100% I made the right choice. GO DS!!!! you wont regret it.
