If the Machine is new, and the pipe Glows red after just a few minutes, than that means it has Problems, and shouldnt be ridden until it is checked out and fixed. you say it is new so you should be able to take it to the dealer and have them fix it under warrenty. it just might keep you engine from totally Blowing up.

I had the same problem with my 02 Baja when it was brand new and of course raised some red flags with me so I returned it to the dealer right away and he told me not to worry it was "NORMAL". I would have thought that the jetting would have been too lean, he said nope, just ride it. So, ride it I did, after the third of fourth tank of gas the reddish head pipe was gone even at night? Who knows???

Both mine and a buddies DS 650's did the same thing, they both run fine, no problems and no more glowing headers.

That's a bonus. Some companies charge extra for the glowing headpipes.

I would say richen up your air/fuel mixture, by turning the air/fuel mixture screw in a half a turn.

try that.

after i change over to using methanol, my head pipes would glow bright, i was i case of being lean, i mean very lean, i had a kit with the largest jet in it and it still did it, so i asked around in here and people were telling me to drill them out, i did and now its fine, but if yours is new you should have this problem
