Sons first race/ C dale ya!

Well the day finally came! Do you remember your first race?
My son, being only 105 lbs soaking wet. We went to glen helen for his first race at the ITP Quad cross. With only a couple hours riding on the national track sat. he was ready, butterflies and all.
Racing the open beginner class on his C dale. At the line I helped get my son and another boy that my son had befriended get ready. sweeping the concrete clean for both boys. And there off! My boy the smallest in the race pulls the holeshot, againest built raptors, a Duncan racing preped 440ex and a built banshee. Ya Hoo! evan though he was unable to hold off the bigger riders, he did manage a fifth in the first heat. Now being totally spent. Moto two came way sooner than the sore muscles would have liked.
Now this race was a little different as they were having trouble with the gates. they opted for a dirt start with a drop the flag and go. He still pulls out a second in the first turn. In this race he manages to hang on better with a third place finnish. Which resulted in a third overall. So a Holeshot and a podium, not bad for his first race.
Needless to say he was glowing and I was as proud as a dad could be!
Were still sticking to our C dales as they are still the best out of the box racer.
I want to thank our troops and Vets for allowing such a memorable day. God Bless!!

Good for him - I'm sure a proud moment for ol' Dad. Sounds like he did a great job!
Both my son's raced their first hare scrambles on their dirt bikes last fall - My baby (6) got 2nd in his class - he would have gotten first if he would have understood he didn't have to shut his bike off at the gate each lap (oops!) - and my 13 year old got 4th in his class against some awesome riders. Nothing makes ya prouder!!!!! Can't wait for them to race this year.

It's great when our kids do good. I'm glad there are still Dales racing and showing just how good they are. My boy took a 1st in production and 4th in "A" at a MX National in Virgina this past weekend
