the polaris 2003 owner's manual say's:

"although polaris premiun 4 is the only recommened for use in this engine, use of any API certified "SH" oil is allowable as long as it's 0w-40".

BELOW is the esso oil bought today; @ $3.89 canadian a liter

Esso XD-3 EXTRA 0w-40. it's called
"Synthetic Blend All-Season"
it is API ch-4, cg-4, cf, cd, sj, SH, and sg rated.

will this be ok in my bike ??

If I don't wanna buy Polaris oil, the only other choise's i have are:
Synthetic OW-30 , 5W-30 type blends

I've read in the posts people are using various brands and weight. I am using a synthetic 5W 50 and exploring using an ESSO semi-synthetic 0W-40 and change oil more often.

I 'am using Castrol Syntec 5W-50 in all my 4 stroke machines.[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif[/img]

 

i use shell O w40 fully synthetic oil i sent the polaris specs to shell oil and they told me to use this type of oil i buy it from our local bulk plant at 4 61 per liter
