Hey everyone, I'm a jetskiier looking for some more action and i'm gettign a quad, but i'm torn between the 400Z and the predator. I've ridden a few times, but nether of these, but i'm just looking for some opinions and advice and my purchising one of these. if anyone knows any problems with ether of these please tell me. and if anyone knows where i can see videos of a stock Predator in action let me know, casue my neighbor just got a z so i know what it's like. thanks a lot

 

Based on what I saw last weekend at Waynoka the preadator will smoke the Z. Good Luck

 

Besides that, you won't have to worry about having to weld gussets onto your Predator frame....unlike that of the 400. Too bad Kawa/Suki isn't upgrading things for peple, from what I've seen it can be a fun bike.

 

Get the predator, you wont regret it. It will out power and out handle the Z400 any day. You could make the Z400 a fast bike but why spend all that money to make it as fast as the predator when you could have that power in stock form? For the money the predator will probably be the best bang for the buck [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif[/img] You won't have many other bikes out running you if you are on a pred. Just my 2 cents. Hope this helps

 

Yah it helps, but i'm just worried about the pred. having as much problems as a raptor or banchee, i want to ride not spend my time fixing things, but thanks, the pred is starting to look like the one 4 me

 

The predator is a better quad overall. The z is a good quad, just not as fast. Not enough people have had the predator long enough to discover is there are any problems with it, but none have shown up so far. Welcome to the sport.

 

Hmm, Indeed the Predator is a Much more powerfull and Faster quad, not to mention that the Steering system is Pure Genius. As for the Reliability, Polaris Quads have Proven themselves to be Extremely Reliable, and Hard to Break. as for a Comparison against the Z/KFX, the Only thing it has over the predator is a Few Pounds less and Reverse Gear. But the Pred has more than enough Power to Pull its weight.Although i am not bashing the Z/KFX at all, it is a Great Machine in all Categories. But the Predator Outdoes it by far. But im Sure that Whatever one you get, you will Have Fun iether way.

The Predator is a great quad at a great price, but for me the Z is the better machine. The Predator is a little heave, seams to carry its weight a little to far forward for my taste, the ergo’s are way off for me with odd bar and peg placement, the tranny is down right clunky compared to the Z, add all that up and throw in the lack of reverse, I definitely prefer the Z.
I’m not bashing the Predator here, just trying to show both sides since you seam to only be hearing the Polaris side in here. The Predator plusses are better stock front suspension, and slightly faster, but not by as much as people seam to think. With my home made intake and exhaust mods, and re-jetting I hang real close with stock Raptors, and they pretty much run neck and neck with Predators.
My suggestion would be ride your friends Z and then try to ride a Predator. Make your own decision from there.
Don’t place too much stock in other peoples opinions, come up with your own, you’ll be a lot happier in the long run.

 

Although I love my pred...Megacrash is right....test ride, then test ride again and make your own call. Everyone has a little different taste as to what suits them!
