fixed my new diff
#1
ok folks i fixed my diff today amd i fixed the one that busted. I put my locker on the old diff and my limited slip on the new diff.
I took it out today amd literally tried to tear it up. i put it in every kind of bind i could think of to try and get it to break! It did not.
How I fixed the busted diff
removed it from the wheeler. took it to the best tig welder in town and i put a 3/8 alluminum nut over the existing hole and welded it to the housing. and filled in any sheared spaces that was showing around the nut. then i bought a plug complete with o ring, and i was done!!! its actually better than it was becuase now there is room in there in case any trash falls down it has a place for it to go and not punch a hole in it.
i welded my side gears, spider gears to themselves and to the housing. Nice and clean.
i put it all back together and shes running like a charm.
I also went ahead and measured the new housing the pinion gear and new sub assembly for the proper shims and it turned out to be exactly what is in there now. 1.5 and 1.3mm. i ready to ride again!!!!!!!

glad to hear that you got it going again. so you put it through some bad stuff. so rate it before locker and after locker. i just like to here these good stories to get me more pumped up about doing it to my bike. oh what type of welder is needed to make the weld on the gears

Us e a wire welder so it does not spladder into your worm gears. if you can get your hands on a tig use a tig,but let someone do it that can really weld.
There is absolutley no comparison, i do not know where to begin

I know youve been in the situation where one tire is off the ground? well imagine trying to climb a ditch like hole and its angled steeply. my left front was off the ground as i approached the top and i literaly crossed over the rut and gave her some gas and she rared up on the front. at the top of the rut. i love seeing that tire pull that is on the ground. You can just crawl in stuff like that. now in deep nasty grease like mud, you still have to spin em,but i noticed i can just crawl for a wile then as i see it starting to get deep, I gas on her. The crawling part I LOVE!!!
