Default clanking noise when sttaking off

Hey I have read a couple of people talking about the clanking noise when you press the gas and take off. I have a brand new 700sp and that is what it is doing. Is this a normal thing and is everyones doing it or is there something wrong. The dealer told me that because of the size and power of the engine that the motor loads up before it engages the clutch thus making this noise. They said it is normal and happens on all of them even on the 600's. I dont know I had a 500sp and never had a problem withit like that. If this is true and everyone else is noticing the same thing let me know. if not and it is something else please give some advise.

Is it a clanking or a clicking? On my 500 there is a clicking...but thats because of the pull start. There isnt one on the 700 so it might be motor load up, i doubt it could be causing much damage...definately get a clutch kit, this could deal with the problem by giving the tranny a better engagement.

I just bought a new SP600 2 weeks ago. Mine does it too. It doesnt move the instant you start to press the throttle gently. Then it make a little "pop" and sort of jumps forward. Several posts say its normal. Ive been wondering about this too.

Yup, perfectly normal. It is just the sound of the steel rollers in the rear clutch hitting the metal helix. The older (NON EBS) machines didn't clunk because they used plastic in the rear clutch where the new one has metal. It is a sign that you have the improved clutch. As long as it is a clunk or click or clack, and not a grinding noise, it is normal.
