I wanna hear from everybody what exactly what to do when you take your cylinder out to touch it up a bit . I have been hearing rough intake ,smooth exhaust. When rough how rough is rough? how smooth is smooth? stuff like that . logical explainations would help, details too!remember this is a quadracer 250. Oh yeah what about the transfer ports on the side ,rough or smooth?should i just make lines that go against the flow with sandpaper on the intake?[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-cool.gif[/img]

 

Please be very careful here... you can really mess up the ports if you get carried away by removing too much material.
It won't hurt a thing to remove the casting marks/slag, but I would avoid doing any actual modification to the port diameters.
Your sand paper will leave the intake ports plenty rough... some folks acutally use alum polish when they work on the exhaust port... we're talkin' way smooth.

If you are looking for big HP improvements... find someone to port it for you that's done it before, and has the right tools... A dremel tool won't reach the tight spots deep in the transfer ports.
