Drag Racing questions

Well to drag you will need to spend some money. Your best bet would be to get a pipe, clutch kit, a jet kit. Then get a new airbox or drill some holes in the stocker. Then get a K& N. That should be a good start.

The 4 strokes will cost you almost double to modify as the 2 stroke will. Keep in mind, that the 500 scram is NOT a drag machine and was never intended to be one. It is big and heavy and the 500 4 stroke is by no means a horesepower powerhouse. A good pipe, clutch kit, jetting, and K&N will run arond $600l. Look to HPD for the pipe and clutch kit. I would highly reccomend them. I bought my HPD stuff from RCR. Good luck.

polarisman72,
Just remember that ATV drag racing is primarily bracket racing with a few heads-up classes for the fast quads. Going fast is a matter of personal preference. But, you don't have to have a fast quad to get started. Take your stock Scrambler to your local track and just have a good time. You might even win some $$$$$ to help pay for your mods.
