When going up hills shift your weight up towards the handlebars, not much though cause then you will lose traction. Enough where you feel that you will still have good traction. Going down steep hills you will want to shift your weight towards the back of the machine and apply the rear brake when needed. Thats about all that you need to do. It becomes almost natural after riding for a while.

Also remeber not to keep trying to climb the hill once you stop moving forward. an then shift your weight more forward. For going back down a hill you don't make I lock the brakes an then get off or as i do I turn around an sit on the front fender on the foot break side so can use the rear brake. I have came down some step hills this way. For going down a hill I usally for the mosy part use the foot peddle to control the rear break an use the front to control the speed you go down.

Going up hills go at it totally committed.Going down when in dought GAS it! This will hook up the tranny.I went to a stiffer secondary spring and it made a world of differance.

Just practice.
The more seat time you have the more comfortable you will feel. Personally, I am more comfortable climbing hills than I am going down some.
Just choose your battles wisely. On some hills you just have to ask yourself if you REALLY NEED to get to the top of it. It will come.

It's kinda like when you start learning to jump. It's hard to be confident that you can do it unless you see another quad accomplish this task. But mainly for going up hills, get your momentum up and keep up speed, cause near the top you can always let off and gravity will shut you down quick. For going down hill, keep your weight as far back as you can and keep gradual pressure on the brake since it is an auto tranny. But have your path picked because if you try locking up the brakes, you could cause a roll. Allow yourself to gain a little speed. Yes, start small and if you see well made quad tracks on a hill, it's possible and can be done. Like anything else, it's a learning experience. Have fun hillclimbing!
