What was I thinking!

About a week ago, I was talking about getting rid of my Predator and getting a KFX 700. I even had a deposit and a otd price of $5999. I was doing this because of my limited movement of my foot. Well I tried one last thing, and lowered my shifter (with a little grinding). Major improvement. I took it out Wed on a track that I built on one of my job sites. The track is about 3000' long with a bunch of jumps and whoops, and some sharp corners. I felt great on the Predator, shifting was much easier, and the Predator rode like it was on rails. Taking mild 20' jumps, felt like landing on a pillow. I am so glad I waited and lowered the shifter. Now I'm getting the full use out of the Predator. And I still woke up this mourning with a smile on my face. Well tommorow, my brother and I are hitting the track again, and maybe do a little time racing. (too dusty to race side by side). I was able to get a 1:57 lap in before I ran out of gas. My brother on his Z-400 with full R-4 system and lid box removed, had a best time of 1:54. I know he beat me, but he has been on racing bikes for years, and this is my first one. Not bad for a rookie. I'll beat him Friday.

Yeah, I had to lower my shifter to. It now connects with the frame on occasion when I downshift, but it's a small price to pay for stretching out your ankle up shifting and having to almost completely remove your foot from the pegs to get on top for a down shift. Good to hear you kept the pred, cause you know those kawi's are only green because of the envy!!

I lower'd my shifter and replaced the clutch lever with a billet Works Connection lever assembly with the quick adjuster. Now it shifts as easy as anything I've ever owned. I had to cut the wires that went to the switch on the oem clutch lever and tie them together so I could start the quad when its in gear. The Works lever is a shorty so its easier to pull... A plus for those of use who only use one finger to pull the clutch lever. And it will rotate up or down on the bars so when you crash it won't break the lever.
